Am I like Lara Croft? No, no. I’m just a witch, right? Apr 26th, 2012
Magda M. Olchawska talks about Mikolay & Julia - audio
The other day I found my son Mikolay searching the Internet for information about Lara Croft. I have no idea how he got the idea into his lovely little head that I could be her. But, I have to say that it’s quite sweet.
I’m a witch. I do spells and I’m pretty good with charms. I try not to turn people into anything unnatural unless they rally, really piss me off. It doesn’t happen often, though it has happened on several occasions.
However, looking for old artefacts and saving the world from yet another disaster like Lara Craft does is not who I am, or is it?
My day is very ordinary. I get up in the morning, have a shower, make breakfast & coffee for my hubby & myself and go to work. Of course I kiss Mikoay and tell him how much I love him before I go.
My office is at the back of an old wardrobe. It is relatively large and contains some magical ingredients such as: herbs, potions, weeds which I sometimes use on certain people, nothing illegal of course.
Once or twice a week I have to go abroad on a secret mission. I can’t exactly tell you what that involves but at times it’s really scary & dangerous.
Thankfully I don’t work for any government or, God forbid, corporation. I’m what you can call an independent witch.
So this is what I do. This is my job. My job is to be a full time “helper or rather fixer of things”.
So maybe at the end of the day I am just like Lara Croft.
1. I do help poor & disadvantaged people.
2. I support financially bunch of kids.
3. I do help sick children.
4. I help the charities to feed the homeless.
Yes, I’m like Lara Croft. I even look a bit like her. I have dark hair and big eyes. My smile is quite charming, so I hear. My hubby was voted the hottest doctor of the year at the local hospital where he works. Lara Croft always has hot guys hanging around her.
Just to make sure I was on the right track I’ve decided to talk to my son. He is a child so he is always honest and doesn’t try to be politically correct as yet.
When Mikolay came back home from school I asked him “Do you really think I’m like Lara Croft?”
He looked at me and said “At first I thought you were. But then I noticed that Lara Croft has got long hair & yours is short, mom.”
So I guess this is it, I’m not like Lara Croft. I’m just an ordinary average witch.

My mom is better than Lara Croft. Feb 12th, 2012
“I wished my mom was more like Lara Croft.” I thought to myself while hiding behind the sofa watching Lara on the TV screen.
Of course mom is very pretty and clever and she must have an exciting job ‘cos she is away a lot. Just like Lara. However it would have been so super cool if she could discover hidden treasures and have loads of fun cars like Lara Croft.
While I was thinking & wondering about the greatness of Lara Croft, mom found my leg sticking out from under the sofa and took me back to bed.
